PANEL DISCUSSION: Transition to a Carbon Free Future
On Thursday, April 3 at 4:30 pm in the Hallock Auditorium at the Adam Joseph Lewis Center (AJLC), 122 Elm Street, Oberlin. The public will have another opportunity to hear from Paul Allen of Zero Carbon Britain; Hans Lehmann of Project ZERO (Denmark); and David Gard, The Oberlin Project Executive Director about creating a carbon free future. This discussion will be followed by a light reception and music in the AJLC atrium. This presentations is a great opportunity to hear cutting-edge ideas from Europe about energy and climate.
Paul Allen will share how the Zero Carbon Britain project is linking up smart approaches to food production, diet, buildings, transport, energy and land use to reduce emissions fast enough to prevent serious climate change.
Hans Lehmann will share information about Sonderborg???s (Denmark) progress toward a sustainable society, and how education can be seen as a driver for change.
David Gard will share how The Oberlin Project's aim is to revitalize the local economy, eliminate carbon emissions, restore local agriculture, food supply and forestry, and create a new, sustainable base for economic and community development.
